Short-Term Car Rental FAQ
Chances are the rental cars that you saw online are either private-owned cars or are illegal cars. Beware of ridiculously cheap car rental deals, make sure to do some research and ask for a proper rental agreement or document (if there’s one, check the insurance coverage and any vague terms and conditions).
There are too many risks involved when it comes to renting a passenger/private-owned car or an illegal car. Renting one may cause you the following:

- Passenger vehicle (a car registered under the name of a private individual)

- Deregistered vehicle
- Disposed vehicle (due to defects or it being associated with a committed crime)
- Insurance and Other Related Issues – not limited to the following:
- Accidents coverage (for vehicle damage (repairs, parts replacement, etc.), medical expenses (hirer, authorised second driver, and the third party), third-party property damage, death, other legal costs, etc.)
- Missing/stolen vehicle
- Named/authorised additional driver issue
- Overseas driving coverage
- Others – no 24-hour roadside assistance for breakdown, towing, courtesy car/vehicle replacement, etc.
