About RDA Singapore
RDA is a thriving movement that started in the 1950’s, and now operates in 30 countries. Founded in Singapore in 1982 with just five beneficiaries, RDA Singapore currently provides horse-riding programmes for over 100 riders each week.
As a registered charity, RDA Singapore relies entirely on donations, sponsorships and fund-raising events to secure the funds to cover its operating expenses. Throughout the year, volunteers and members help to organise fund-raising events. They too, appeal to corporate organisations and foundations to cover the annual operational costs to provide free therapeutic assistance.
Who are the beneficiaries of RDA Singapore?
RDA provides free, therapeutic horse-riding programmes that benefit children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Horse riding helps people with physical disabilities in areas such as improving muscle tone, respiration, balance, coordination, posture and mobility. Those with cognitive disabilities may improve in social and interaction skills as well as gain self confidence and self-esteem.
Rockability – RDA’s Fundraising Event
The annual Charity Dinner & Dance is the major fundraiser for the year. This year’s event was themed ‘Rockability’.
To help RDA raise funds to keep the Riding Centre open for another year, Ace Drive Car Rental has decided to sponsor some spectacular prizes that were put as an auction items during the event.
Some of the auction items that Ace Drive has sponsored were 1-Day Free Porsche 911 C4S PDK Rental, $1,000 & $500 Rental Vouchers and 10 15-Min Exotic Fun Ride Vouchers. 200 pieces of $50 Rental vouchers were also donated to further extend our support to RDA.
